PMU Aftercare Instructions
All of the below will have been discussed at the time of your service, however if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out for clarification. The more closely you follow the aftercare instructions, the better your results.
Day One
Please wash hands with antibacterial soap before you wash your eyebrows. Then wash your eyebrows every hour, with a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a tissue than apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor, as instructed.
Week One
Keep your eyebrows lightly glossed with Aquaphor, 5-8 times a day, for the first 7-10 days. Use ointment sparingly, only applying a thin layer. Ensure that you are not suffocating the procedure area and that your brows are staying hydrated.
- Do not use Retin-A, Glycolic Acids, Peroxide or Neosporin on the procedure area, while healing.
- Do not scrub or pick at the procedure area.
- Do not expose area to sun or tanning beds! Must use hat if in the sun.
- Avoid any facials, swimming, whirlpools or sauna for the first week.
- Do not exercise the first 3 days, afterwards be conscious of only allowing light sweating for the remainder of the first week.
- Do not apply makeup to the procedure area
- Do not tint the procedure area
What to Expect
Immediately after your service, brows tend to be 20-25% darker and slightly wider than when completely healed. Your skin will be slightly red in the general service area, also causing the color of the pigment to appear darker. You will experience some swelling, immediately following the service.
Exfoliation, which begins several days post-service, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow to flake away, revealing a narrower appearance. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size then you requested- this was taken into account and once fully healed, the appearance will settle to the desired outcome.
